Spotlight Project

Promoting Digital Literacy of Teachers in Adult Education

The aim of the project is "the promotion of digital competence of teachers in adult education by integrating exemplary digital educational media in media-supported teaching and learning arrangements" .

Based on the experiences with the Comenius-EduMedia-Awards since 1995, a new practical evaluation procedure based on test criteria will be developed, which can be easily taken up and implemented by teachers (O1).
This assessment procedure is then implemented in O2 in an internet-based application ("database") "DataMedia", and is thus easily accessible everywhere. However, an important aspect of this is that the application also functions as a database for searching for suitable digital educational media and makes it easier for teachers who have not previously used such media to get started. In order to be able to increasingly train teachers (in this system), course models with country-specific digital educational media were developed. (O4), a communication platform was created, which allows an exchange and thus helps to reduce obstacles, solve problems and share experiences and is thus an essential part of the project and for its sustainability.
All this is collected in the e-book " Digitale Kompetenz - Theorie und Praxis der Erwachsenenbildung in digital-medialem Ambiente",

Digital Competence - Theory and Practice of Adult Education in a Digital-Medial Environment), a freely available handbook, and supplemented and completed by background texts.

The DigiMedia project sees itself in this sense as an enlargement of the knowledge and action contexts, but also as an enrichment of the perspectives and options of the didactic arrangements in the adult education context and thus as a promotion of the methodological and didactic quality of teaching competence in the context of currently increasing digitization of teaching and learning Learning cooperation in adult education (see Baacke 1980, Bauer 2017).

The project is currently in implementation and has been funded under  the Erasmus+ KA204 – Strategic Partinerships for adult education

DIgimedia consortium : Institut für Bildung und Medien der Gesellschaft für Pädagogik (Germany), Institut für Aus- und Weiterbildung (Germany), European Society for Education and Communication (Austria), BITVISER (Netherlands), ERCI (Cyprus), Projactive Consulting (Hungary), University research institute of applied communication (Greece)

Implementation period: 01.10.2019 – 31.07.2022
